many of my friends indulge in Gothercize, which is basically dancing within hearing distance of one's computer for aerobic exercise.

Oceania has always endorsed Gothercize. )

Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity
it never fails to get my groove on. it's got that fine fine piano to start it off, beautiful big voice, and then layers of sound - popping bass and a bit of wa. if it doesn't get you chairdancing, then I'm sorry that you're dead. it definitely reminds me of that branch of funk that did so well in the Disco Age.

Jamiroquai - When You Gonna Learn Clap your hands. I love this woman's voice, too. something about this song really wants me to concentrate on footwork, too - with spins and steps. You could hustle to this, no problem.

George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic - Flashlight
It's not a funk rec list with no Parliament! If haven't heard this song and you like We Want The Funk, grab it. fulll orchestral Funk, complete with horns.

Songs of Innocence, Introduction
You are 'regularly metric verse'. This can take
many forms, including heroic couplets, blank
verse, and other iambic pentameters, for
example. It has not been used much since the
nineteenth century; modern poets tend to prefer
rhyme without meter, or even poetry with
neither rhyme nor meter.

You appreciate the beautiful things in life--the
joy of music, the color of leaves falling, the
rhythm of a heartbeat. You see life itself as
a series of little poems. The result (or is it
the cause?) is that you are pensive and often
melancholy. You enjoy the company of other
people, but they find you unexcitable and
depressing. Your problem is that regularly
metric verse has been obsolete for a long time.

What obsolete skill are you?

In other news, I am currently making some more Icons. whoo, fun! I decided to expand and change some of the images in my custom mood theme.

I am wishing it were not so cold so I could go skating.

I wish I had a decent excuse to spend more time with my friends, and the money to do it with.

Project Corset begins this Wednesday, so I won't have time to spend with my friends until [livejournal.com profile] legacyofty's party on Friday night. I hope this works. I wore my completely inauthentic sort of renaissance bodice for Twilight Theatre on saturday night, which creates an impressive expanse of feminine pulchitrude, but it's cut low enough that I have to be hyper vigilant about the slightest peek of aureola.

Though that particular effect is period...

anyway, apparently the pattern I'm using doesn't quite come up high enough to cover, so I'd better hope my alteration skillz are sitll mad. If I can find someone with a digital camera, I'll try to get pictures, as we're having a big fancy conclave at BloodTies and [livejournal.com profile] lacykitten should be there with her SEXY digital Rebel and I will ask her if she wouldn't mind. or... Hey Lacy, would you mind taking pictures of Project Corset? and of course I don't at all mind being photographed for game so get on to it.

okay, it's Funk Week at [livejournal.com profile] audiography so I better get on it.

1. post a bit of the lyrics to the first 20 songs that come up in your random playlist. Cross them off as people guess them correctly.

Okay, this is my playlist, so the selection is of course crazy. I will also load you a link if you want to request any of these songs in the comments, as well.

Let the insanity begin! )
