again I am reminded that I really would love a dreamwidth invite so I can join some of the fandom communities over there, most notably aesexual fandom.

when I saw Johnny Weir take the ice in the men's short program, i didn't expect that the skater described as "overly flamboyant" and the "would-be lady Gaga of figure skating" to deliver a downright conservative, flowing short program that I would have expected of a skater of the russian school.

and the comments about the costume? *PEOPLE.* Daisuke Takahashi beat Prince up and took his COAT. a couple fuschia lines and a tassel is making you squeal? you folks don't remember Emmanuel Sandhu, do you?

and the canadian fans know skating well enough to know his marks were kinda BS.
