Third day of contacts.
Feb. 17th, 2007 11:42 pmwell I have had them for four days but on day 2 I totally forgot to put them on.
serious bonus to contact lenses: cheap sunglasses. I have this totally glam pair of pale rose with a light gold reflective tint. I can see myself gathering an entire collection of sunglasses.
yes I know the idea was to quit having this frame obfuscating my face. but I feel more comfortable with something spectacle-like on. also, I feel like a secret agent. sunglasses are full of glamour! and no squinting at the snow glare!
now if I could just get used to looking at the world with no frame around it...
here's teh weird thing. I have a modest (well, *now* it's modest) make up collection. I hardly ever wore make up. now that I have contacts, it seems like i can't go without it. what the hell. am i just trading one mask for another?
and ohgod I need to take these off. is the wine drying out my eyes, or something?
work hath decreed that casual dress is good until march the 5th. sure. I spend money on a decent coat and a new purse and now I can scuff about in jeans and runners. how am I supposed to pursue Ultimate Hotness in jeans and runners? well, I could decide not to dress casually, but I wore a skirt on friday ONCE and it was all I heard all day: "it's friday, yo! what are you all dressed up for?"
fie on them. fie, I say!
so I have drunk too much wine. I went and got a bottle of california cab sau with a screw top bottle (not nekulturny! I am the only wine drinker in the house, and one bottle all by my little self is too damn much! i need a partner in crime for corked bottles. the end!) and the first glass tasted like more. I am a sillyhead.
and tipsy-ness makes me make LJ posts about vanity...
and you fountain pen mavens - is mont blanc ink all the speshul in the entire world? becuase I indulged my stationery store habit and I really wanted some sepia ink, and mont blanc ink was the only brand they had with sepia, and it was spendy compared to the ink i usually buy. I have to run a cartridge down, but is it going to make a huge difference?
does fountain pen ink make a difference?
I won't get my new pen on monday because it's a stupid holiday that I dont' even get paid time and a half for, let alone my usual double time and a half, but Canada Post, who HATES mail and all it stands for, will not be delivering that day. so all the mail I'm expecting, and all the mail I am sending, shall be delayed, because the second to last premier we had sucks. boo.
and they're making noises about giving us yet another alberta residents royalty. I can hardly believe it. I don't suppose they will decide this in time for this taxation year...
