It must be spring, I'm getting all girrrrly.

I went to get my hair cut today. it is shorter than it has been in ten years. I can't call it long with a straight face. the cutter I got didn't know curly hair, so he made the mistakes someone who doesn't know curly hair do. I don't really know how it turned out because he made the styling mistake people who don't know curly hair make - he handled it too much. so I have very seperated curls and lots of foof. I'll re-do it in the morning and see what I end up with.

But I'm happy with the ends - I had major split ends and super duper hair damage, and now all that is gone. I think I'm going to experience curlier hair and probably more bounce. so what the hell, it will grow back. While I was there we got to talking about color, and I heard a suggestion I loved SO MUCH. he talked about doing foil highlights in my hair in varying shades of brown, all very subtle like. I caught on to what he was saying and I said "yeah, the underlayers could be mahogany to chestnut, then in the middle carry the chestnut up and go with a deep auburn, but nothing too red, and something like the color of a chocolate bar, and then on the top layers carry the chocolate up, micro thin strands of that auburny brown and some about the color of buckwheat honey..."

and I look up at the mirror and he's wide-eyed. what I was talking about was even more sophisticated than what he was thinking. he said I should be a hair color technician. It made me go hmm. I'm still thinking about this upcoming career thing and if I were to become a hairstylist, I would specialize in curly hair, I think. I couldn't go someplace expensive like ouidad but I knew way more about handling curly hair than I realized - i mean here's a hairstylist struggling to comb through my hair and trying to get it even the way you do for straight hair and wow. It's something to think about, at any rate.

I bought a cute, girly skirt and a couple of tank tops with built in sports bra thingies. I think they will be useful for summer. I need a set of green shoes - i've been buying summer clothes the past two years in a row that require green shoes. I can get away with beige but for true girlypants style, I need green. I know, I'm a freak.

I also did my first Imp Ear order. I'm getting Sea of Glass, Shattered, Crossroads, Libertine, Lex Talionis, and Succubus. BPAL is 21 days behind, so I'm guessing that this business is making some money. I hope so. I hope BPAL is a profitable business enabling someone to make a good living doing creative work she adores. I hope it's so profitable she has to train an apprentice perfumier to help with the load, who also adores the job and they make scads and scads of cash.

There are so many perfumes I want to try. Starting with this six, I'll probably do another set of imps afterward, and I'll probably be ready to get into the swap madness. and reviews too, since BPAL reviews are what got me into this mess in the first place...I blame you, [livejournal.com profile] dark_geisha. and you, [livejournal.com profile] the_red_shoes.
